The floating museum, Torrevieja Submarine
The Delfin S61 was a submarine of the Spanish Armada and is now a floating museum in the port of Torrevieja.
During your visit, you will have the chance to look inside the submarine and see how the sailors once lived. It is a boat of the Daphne class, originally from France. However, they were also used by Pakistan, Portugal, South Africa and Spain. The first submarine built for Spain carries the code S61 and was put into operation in May 1973. The decommissioning took place in December 2003. Already in February 2004, it was given the city Torrevieja by the Ministry of Defense.
The Sea and Salt Museum in Torrevieja has transformed the submarine into a museum. Now every visitor has the opportunity to visit the interior. The effort was worth it, because you can move within a few minutes in another world below the sea.
